Job Description
The Network Operations Intern assists the IT Department with network operations, infrastructure projects, helpdesk support, security coordination, and technical documentation. This position requires reliable attendance, attention to detail, hands-on work, and the ability to follow assigned tasks through completion.
Job Related Qualifications
Qualifications, Essential Skills and Experience:
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to follow a structured troubleshooting process.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, switches, wireless, cameras, and network-connected devices is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and project notes.
• Must be self-motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to perform hands-on infrastructure work.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
• Prior helpdesk, network, cybersecurity, camera, cabling, rack organization, or infrastructure experience.
• Exposure to XDR, SOC operations, endpoint security tools, vulnerability management, or incident response processes.
Required Certifications and Training:
No certifications are required for internship consideration. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent training are valued but not required. Must complete SVEC-required safety, cybersecurity, confidentiality, and job-related training as assigned.
